Weekly Summary – October 26 – November 1, 2025
YNET, Walla!, N12, and Maariv provided extensive coverage of the peace camp rally held in Tel Aviv’s Rabin Square, marking 30 years since the assassination of Yitzhak Rabin. They presented readers with a detailed overview of the speakers’ remarks—with one exception: Nasreen Haddad Haj-Yahya, Vice President of the New Israel Fund. Israel Hayom merely mentioned her name, while Haaretz published a single paragraph quoting her: “Anyone who truly wishes to build a better future must reach out for Jewish-Arab partnership—openly, not behind closed doors. Partnership is built together, because democracy is for everyone, or it simply isn’t democracy.” Haj-Yahya reminded the tens of thousands that attended the rally who prefer to forget that the occupation is still here. Opposition party leaders Lapid, Golan, and Eisenkot also chose to ignore the elephant in the room. Meanwhile, in the occupied territories, the familiar chronicle of harassment during the olive harvest continued. The army cooperated with settlers and abused Palestinians and activists who came to assist them. Soldiers issued closed military zone orders, detained activists on false grounds, and left Palestinian harvesters exposed to settler violence—none of whom were arrested or even questioned.
